Welcome to The Doctor's Prognosis! I am your humble host, Dr. C-LOS. Here, I will let you know my thoughts on various forms of entertainment including film, TV, and video games. Enjoy!
Marvel Studios has released the first teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! Need a hug?
Fantastic trailer that has that same fun feel we remember from the first film. And who can't get behind cute little baby Groot? More of this please!
Marvel also released a new poster for the film.
Written and directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Glenn Close, Chris Sullivan, Sylvester Stallone, and Kurt Russell.

Sweet Christmas! Watch the SDCC teaser trailer for Marvel's original Netflix series, Luke Cage!
Assuming the show follows the same quality as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, Luke Cage will be a must-watch for fans of the superhero genre.
Here is an official synopsis:
"After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city - forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury."
Want more? Marvel also released a teaser trailer for Iron Fist!
Here is a short synopsis:
"Danny Rand (Finn Jones) returns to New York City, after being missing for years, to fight corruption with a proficiency in kung-fu and the ability to call upon the power of the Iron Fist."
But that's not all. Marvel also revealed the teaser trailer for The Defenders!
The Defenders serves as a culmination of the various Marvel Netflix shows. It features Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist as they unite to face their biggest threat yet.
Finally, Marvel also released an awesome sizzle trailer for their Netflix programs..... because apparently we are not hyped enough.
The first season of Luke Cage will debut on Netflix on September 30, 2016. The Defenders will arrive sometime in 2017. No release date was revealed for Iron Fist, but it is expected to premiere in 2017.
Check out the official teaser trailer for Marvel's Doctor Strange!
That was some amazing imagery. Very exotic and otherworldly. Feels much different than anything else from Marvel, yet still feels like it fits in well. Cannot wait to see more.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton.
The story revolves around an arrogant but brilliant surgeon, Stephen Strange, who learns the mystic arts from the Ancient One after his career is destroyed by a near-fatal car accident.
Doctor Strange is set to release in US theaters on November 4, 2016.
Watch the latest trailer for Stars Wars: The Force Awakens! "Just let it in."
Wow, Finn was about to throw it down with Kylo Ren in a lightsaber duel! I cannot wait to see what happens in this film.
Directed by J. J. Abrams and set after the original trilogy, the film stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, and Gwendoline Christie.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will arrive in US theaters on December 18th.
Warner Bros. has released the Comic-Con trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. "Black and blue. God vs. man. Day vs. night."
Although I am still not too sure about Lex Luthor with the ugly shirt and toupee, Jesse Eisenberg's acting is great, and everything else looked amazing. The only real concern is how much it looks like they are cramming into this movie. That said, it is difficult not to get hyped for this. Batman is livid with Superman for the destruction from the first film, and Ben Affleck's acting is looking above form in the trailer.
Noteworthy: we finally got to see Wonder Woman in action! Also, will Zod's dead body come into play somehow? Is the child Wayne is holding going to be his Robin? How does Aquaman figure into the story? What was with that fight between Batman and those soldiers? So many questions, but I would rather wait to watch the movie for the answers.
Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot, and Jason Momoa.
Here is an official synopsis:
"Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis' most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in US theaters on March 25, 2016.
Warner Bros. has officially released the full HD teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now with 100% less shaky cam!
That last line was badass. Also loved the imagery of a human looking up at Superman like he is some kind of angel or god, only to be followed by "False God" scrawled on a statue of him.
For those familiar with Frank Miller's graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, the film should look familiar. Batman's armor and bulky frame are straight out of the pages of the book. However, there is a bit of role reversal this time around in the sense that Superman appears to be reviled by the public in the film, whereas Batman was the pariah in Miller's story.
Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot, and Jason Momoa.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in US theaters on March 25, 2016.
Watch the new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens!.... Disney is going to leave me penniless.
Wow, nice to see Chewie and Han Solo again. The last teaser focused mostly on what is new in the film. This time, we got some familiar faces, and presumably Luke's disembodied voice. We also got a much better look at the enigmatic Kylo Ren wielding his red light saber. And what's with that chrome stormtrooper? This is what a good teaser does: shows us enough to get excited without giving anything away. Of course, now I just want more.
Directed by J. J. Abrams and set after the original trilogy, the film sees the return of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Kenny Baker as R2-D2. Newcomers to the series include John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, and Gwendoline Christie.
Here's a short synopsis:
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and features a new generation of swashbuckling heroes and shadowy villains, as well as the return of fan-favorite smugglers, princesses, and Jedi."
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will arrive in US theaters on December 18th.
Marvel has released a humorous but action-packed new trailer for Ant-Man..... set atop a toy train.
Now this looks like a fun movie. The cast is great, and there is plenty of action, but the film doesn't appear to take itself too seriously, which is a definite plus when the story revolves around a man who shrinks and controls ants.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the film stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and Corey Stoll.
Here is a short synopsis:
"Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world."
Directed by series creator Doug Ellin, the film stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Dillon, and Jeremy Piven.
Here is a short synopsis:
"Movie star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), together with his boys, Eric (Kevin Connolly), Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and Johnny (Kevin Dillon), are back...and back in business with super-agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven). Some of their ambitions have changed, but the bond between them remains strong as they navigate the capricious and often cutthroat world of Hollywood."
Entourage is scheduled to arrive in US theaters on June 5th.
Check out the first full trailer for Marvel's new Netflix series, Daredevil.
The trailer definitely fleshes out the story, which is looking like the grittiest take on superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That is good thing since it helps give the series its own unique flavor.
The series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
Here is a short synopsis:
"Meet Matt Murdock. Blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt fights injustice by day as a respected lawyer and by night as the masked vigilante known as Daredevil in Hell's Kitchen, New York. He'll do anything to make his city a better place, but at what price?"
Daredevil is the first of 4 new programs slated to be released from Marvel exclusively on Netflix, including A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These programs will culminate with the main characters of these shows teaming up for a miniseries called The Defenders. These new programs will also be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes popular movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers.
All 13 episodes of Daredevil will be available on Netflix on April 10th.
Disney and Pixar have released an emotional new trailer for Inside Out! This is going to be good. It's more than a feeling.
The trailer gets points just for that Boston song. The film looks like it is going to be fun for the whole family, while also including some emotional resonance.
The movie has a great cast with Amy Poehler as Joy, Bill Hader as Fear, Lewis Black as Anger, Mindy Kaling as Disgust, and Phyllis Smith as Sadness.
Here is a short story summary:
"Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school."
Inside Out will arrive in US theaters on June 19th.
Looks like a dark and gritty program reminiscent of the CW's Arrow, which is definitely a good thing.

Fox has finally released the first teaser trailer for their reboot of Fantastic Four!
Director Josh Trank (Chronicle) has recently said that he was going for a hard science feel, and that he was inspired by David Cronenberg films such as The Fly. These influences shows in the trailer as the film definitely looks more grounded and darker than the previous iteration, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Expect to see some "body horror" elements as well. Maybe not straight horror, but the heroes do see their bodies go through some quick and unexpected changes that perhaps get a little out of control. It will be interesting to see a full trailer to get a better feel for the movie.
Thankfully, the film features some talented actors with Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch, Jamie Bell as The Thing, and Toby Kebbell as Doom.
Here is an official synopsis for the film:
"FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."
Fantastic Four will arrive in US theaters on August 7.
Not a lot to go off of yet, but a god introduction to the character. The film definitely has potential with such a great cast. Directed by Peyton Reed, the film stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and Corey Stoll.
Here is a short synopsis:
"Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world."
Dat crossguard lightsaber doe! Seriously though, the special effects look amazing, and seeing the Millennium Falcon in action again is exciting.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will open in US theaters on December 18, 2015.

Inside Out is scheduled to release in US theaters on June 19, 2015.
Check out the creepy new concept trailer for Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro's horror game, Silent Hills. Warning: nightmare fuel.
It seems that the "concept" of the game is to scar gamers for life. Kojima previously stated that his goal for this game is to force players to soil themselves. While the trailer is not showing actual gameplay, the ideas present demonstrate that Kojima may well be on his way to achieving his goal.
Starring Norman Reedus, Silent Hills will be released for the PS4, but other possible platforms have not been announced. An official release date is still unknown.
Steve Carell shines in the new teaser trailer for Foxcatcher, also starring Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo.
This looks like it is going to be standout film.
Directed by Bennett Miller, the trailer comes courtesy of IMDb. The film is based on the true story of Mark Schultz (Tatum), an Olympic wrestler whose relationship with sponsor John du Pont (Carell) and brother Dave Schultz (Ruffalo) would lead to unlikely circumstances.
Foxcatcher will be released in US theaters on November 14th.
Everyone's favorite creepy doll stars in the first full trailer for Annabelle!
That last part was quite chilling. Here is a story summary courtesy of IMDb:
"John Form has found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia - a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia's delight with Annabelle doesn't last long. On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now... Annabelle."
Annabelle will arrive in US theaters on October 3rd.
