Fantastic Four - Official Teaser Trailer

Fox has finally released the first teaser trailer for their reboot of Fantastic Four!

Director Josh Trank (Chronicle) has recently said that he was going for a hard science feel, and that he was inspired by David Cronenberg films such as The Fly. These influences shows in the trailer as the film definitely looks more grounded and darker than the previous iteration, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Expect to see some "body horror" elements as well. Maybe not straight horror, but the heroes do see their bodies go through some quick and unexpected changes that perhaps get a little out of control. It will be interesting to see a full trailer to get a better feel for the movie.

Thankfully, the film features some talented actors with Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch, Jamie Bell as The Thing, and Toby Kebbell as Doom.

Here is an official synopsis for the film:

"FANTASTIC FOUR,  a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."

Fantastic Four will arrive in US theaters on August 7.

  1. FINALLY! I'm glad they didn't go the campy fun for the whole family route. Is this a Marvel in house film? If so, avengers?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

    1. Nope, it's from Fox again, so they could mix the franchise with X-Men if they wanted. However, if this iteration fails, I could see the franchise possibly going back to Marvel. It will be interesting to see what happens.
