Captain America: Civil War - Second Official Trailer

The new Spider-Man debuts in the latest trailer for Captain America: Civil War!

This looks great so far. We saw Black Panther take down the Winter Soldier from a speeding motorcycle, Ant-Man riding Hawkeye's arrow, and Spider-Man finally jump in to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time!

Interestingly, Spider-Man's eyes can change size, which appears to be facilitated by mechanical shutters as evidenced by the details around the eyes in the pic above, and the sound that can be heard as the eyes change in the trailer. Very clever design reminiscent of a camera's aperture, which may have been inspired by Peter Parker's "real life" job as a photographer for the Daily Bugle.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), the film stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, and Martin Freeman.

Here is an official synopsis:

"Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps - one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability."

Captain America: Civil War will swing into US theaters on May 6, 2016.

Captain America: Civil War - First Official Trailer

It's here! Marvel has released the first official trailer for Captain America: Civil War!

First of all, Black Panther looks awesome. Second, this movie may be even bigger than Avengers: Age of Ultron. We will see some of the usual team members like Black Widow and Hawkeye, as well as newer additions such as Ant-Man and Spider-Man. It will be interesting to see how they handle so many characters, even if the focus is mainly on Captain America.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), the film stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, and Martin Freeman.

Here is an official synopsis:

"Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rodgers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain."

Captain America: Civil War will arrive in US theaters on May 6, 2016.

Spider-Man Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Finally! Sony and Marvel Studios have reached a deal to bring Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Sony Pictures Entertainment, the current holders of the Spider-Man movie license, are collaborating with Disney and Marvel on a new creative direction with the franchise. The beginning of this deal will have Spider-Man show up in a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will be followed by a new Spider-Man film set for July 28, 2017.

It has not yet been announced which Marvel film Spider-Man will debut in, but the infamous Sony hack revealed plans for Spider-Man to possibly appear in Captain America: Civil War. Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 are the only other Marvel films set for release before the new Spider-Man film, so Civil War still seems like the most likely option for the web slinger's MCU debut. It is unknown if Andrew Garfield will reprise his role for these new films, but the new creative direction means a new actor will most likely take over.

Will Spider-Man make his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War?

As a result of this deal, Marvel has pushed back some of their films such as Thor: Ragnarok, which will now release on November 3, 2017 since the new Spider-Man film took its spot in July. In 2018, Black Panther arrives on July 6, followed by Captain Marvel on November 2. Finally, Inhumans is now set for July 12, 2019.

Despite these changes, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is still scheduled to open on May 4, 2018, with Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 also keeping its release date of May 3, 2019.

Sony and Marvel are also looking at opportunities to integrate other MCU characters into future Spider-Man films.

Can we get FOX and their X-Men license in this deal somehow? One step at a time.

The new Spider-Man film will be produced by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and former Sony executive Amy Pascal. Sony will continue to own, finance, distribute, and have final creative control over the Spider-Man movie property.

Keep an eye out for more amazing Spider-Man news as it develops.

New Avengers Trailer!

by Carlos Marquez

Title explains it all.

The film seems to be coming along quite nicely. I'm liking everything I see in the trailers so far. Can't wait to see the final product. The Avengers is scheduled to hit theatres on May 4th, 2012 in the United States in 2D, IMAX 3D, and RealD 3D.
