X-Men: Apocalypse - First Official Trailer

The end is nigh in the first official trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse!

Apocalypse looks a lot better in the trailer than he did previously released photos. Either way, this looks like a fun blockbuster.

Directed by Bryan Singer, the film stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Alexandra Shipp, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ben Hardy, Tye Sheridan, Lana Condor, and Oscar Isaac.

Here is a short synopsis:

"Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction."

X-Men: Apocalypse will arrive in US theaters on May 27, 2016.

That trailer looked amazing. I love the action between the mutants and the Sentinels, and I think there's a good mix of new and familiar characters. The wait is almost over. Let's hope it turns out as good as the trailer.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - Opening Battle

If you missed the MTV Movie Awards, you might have also missed the opening battle sequence from X-Men: Days of Future Past. This sneak peek takes a look at several mutants battling Sentinels in the future.

Cool little action clip, which just makes me want to see the whole thing already. Mission accomplished, Fox.

It's here! New trailer with a little Sentinel action!

Everything looks great so far, from the dystopian future to the various mutant powers on display. On the other hand, with so many characters, and time travel elements, this has the potential to be a bit messy. In the meantime, these trailers are doing a great job of subsiding my fears. I remain cautiously optimistic.
